Carefully attentive in detail and a storyteller with skill at drawing the reader into suspenseful narratives, Lewis does justice to the high-tension world of espionage and special operations. Drawing on actual geopolitical battles, he crafts stories that put readers in the middle of the high-stakes missions and ethical challenges of those working in the intelligence community.
The Hostages is the first book in the Max Walters series, presenting readers with an exciting protagonist struggling to find her place in the male-dominated world of the CIA. Rand C. Lewis is the President and CEO of Transnational Strategic Solutions, Inc. a consulting company providing services to U.S. Government agencies. He is a retired U.S. Army Foreign Area Officer with over twenty-nine years of military service. Rand holds a Ph.D. in History from the University of Idaho and has published two nonfiction books, A Nazi Legacy and The Neo-Nazis and German Unification, both by Praeger Publishing. Dr. Lewis has written numerous articles for journals and spoken to numerous groups about national security affairs over the years. He now lives in Idaho with his wife, Jan, and is continuing his writing after over fifty-seven years of government service, academics, and consulting with government agencies.
